No matter what your answer is
You are wrong.

Make sense to me, looking at my math workbook :/

Yep.
That's the only pathetic trick they ever had.
new kind of statistics:

It is always 50%. You either win or lose. No matter what u ask. Example: how high is the chance that I get 7 in a row of something. The answer is 50%, because to answer this question, you either get 7 in a row or not, in conclusion it is 50%.
So that's what Goodstein must have meant in his opening chapter, it all makes sense now! Statistical appears to be a common misspelling of sadistic(al):

> 1.1 Introduction: Thermodynamics and statistical mechanics of the perfect gas
>
> Ludwig Boltzmann, who spent much of his life studying statistical mechanics, died in 1906, by his own hand. Paul Ehrenfest, carrying on the work, died similarly in 1933. Now it is our turn to study statistical mechanics.
> Perhaps it will be wise to approach the subject cautiously.

David L. Goodstein, States of matter. Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice-Hall (1975), ch. 1, p. 1
If one enjoys dry humor, one can find it surprisingly often in science or math texts. Often, it is even intentional.

Actually, I suppose one can find it there even if one doesn't enjoy it. I sit corrected.

My math book full of correct answers but I just copied them all from the top students! "P
