I guess wearing them at OTB opens generally attracts more amateurs than elite players to the site. Which in turn results in a deflation of the rating pool. So, yes, it does improve your rating then.
@achja I once wore a Lichess hoodie to a chess tournament(OTB). Everyone now refers to me as the "Lichess guy"
